6th Annual Panty Schmooze a Major Success!

The 6th Annual Panty Schmooze - an event created to raise essential donations, money and awareness for local women’s shelters in the GTA - was held April 21st, 2008 at The Gibson Guitar Artist Showroom.

The evening featured live performances by Alex J. Robinson, Low Level Flight and Johnny Reid with the charming and talented Rik Emmett as the evening’s host. Guests were treated to a surprise performance by Doc Walker to end the evening!

The “Ultimate Panty Schmoozer” was presented to Doug McClement of Livewire Remote Recorders. Doug has been a supporter of the Panty Schmooze each year since the Panty Schmooze’s inception in 2002. He has donated his time, resources and expertise to the Audio production of the event each year.

This year’s event generated;

$5,200 in cash!
811 pairs of new underwear
102 new bras
Boxes upon boxes of gently used clothing and new product
Over 60 door prizes totaling over $11,000 in giveaways

All proceeds from the event were divided and graciously donated to two shelters:Julliette's Place and Interim Place.

Thanks to all who have helped make this year’s Panty Schmooze a huge success. Your selflessness keeps spirits alive.

Words of thanks last year's recipient, Nellie's Shelter...

"I know I have said it before, but I want to say it again. you are a special group with a special heart both individually and collectively. I truly feel honoured to of met all of you and to share your joys and pains over the brief 16 months since you've entered into Nellie's community of support. Last night we had a mini-Shmooze for the women at the shelter to celebrate your success. We enjoyed your pictures from the Panty Shmooze and passing out some gifts. Your spirit was strongly felt and in the words of one of our residents after receiving her new panties. "LONG LIVE THE SHMOOZE!!" Please take a minute to reflect on your incredible achievements, knowing that you have made such a wonderful difference in the lives of the women at Nellie's shelter!
