The Panty Schmooze History: 4th Annual Panty Schmooze

4th Annual Panty Schmooze
Aptil 12, 2006

The 4th Annual Panty Schmooze-an event created to raise essential donations, money and awareness for local women's shelters was held April 12, 2006 at The Original Motorcycle Club in Toronto .

The evening featured live performances by Six Shooter recording artists, Toronto singer-songwriter Justin Rutledge and the internationally known Luke Doucet. The charming and talented Haydain Neale of Jacksoul fame showed his support by hosting the event and providing an interesting retrospective into the history of the man-panty. In addition to also performing, Haydain was funny, informative and genuine in his hosting duties.

A special "Ultimate Panty Schmoozer' award was presented to Deane Cameron, president of EMI Music Canada and was graciously accepted on his behalf by EMI Vice President Derrick Ross. Deane and EMI Music Canada have provided a full entertainment system of a 27" flat screen television and a surround sound DVD system to the Panty Schmooze each and every year.

This year's event generated over 1100 pairs of new underwear, 72 new bras, 100 boxes of gently used clothing and household products, cash donations from Music Manager's Forum, cases of bath and hair products from Schwarzkopf-Henkel, assorted CDs from Linus Entertainment, 4 cases of hair products from Alberto Culver, $100 in gift certificates from Dominion Stores, a free room painting for a shelter from Spectrum Painting, a case of cereal from Weight Watchers, a case of coffee from Van Houtte Café, assorted children's toys from T.W.I. Worldwide, assorted new clothing from Northern Reflections, a new digital camera courtesy of EOE, a vast selection of new educational books from Scholastic Canada, as well as raising over $2600 in cash.

All proceeds from the event were divided and graciously donated to two shelters, Nellie's Shelter for Women and Julliette's Place. Over $4000 worth of door prizes were also given out to attendees. These prizes were donated by: Bell Mobility, Tails & Trails, Hot House Café, Alma Records, Air Canada Centre, Nettwerk Productions, Key to Health, Solo Mobile, Salon Tatiana, Warner Music Canada, Solo Mobile, Dufflet Pastries, Linda Lundstrom Inc., Nefertiti Spa, Orange Record Label, Original Motorcycle Café, RGK Entertainment Group, Two Blondes & a T-Square, XM Satellite Radio, YOU Salon and Spa, Apple Itunes certificates, Yvonne Duivenvoorden Photography, Standard Radio (MIX 99.9), and North by Northeast Music Conference.
